Following the events of the last game, Lara Croft is buried in an Egyptian tomb and presumed dead. At her memorial her close friends reminisce about the secrets from her past. But is she really dead?

Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness

Lara is accused of murder. She becomes a fugitive and has to flee. She uncovers a sinister conspiracy that involves alchemy experiments and the search for ancient artifacts.

The game graphics of Tomb Raider IV-V-VI have been remastered. The game does offer the ability to swap to the original polygonal model, and back to the remastered graphics at any time in the game. The goal of the graphical updates was to improve and enhance the visual, without taking away the established art style. Several additions were made, including restored gameplay elements and areas, and some new abilities unique to the second player character Kurtis.

Controversy

A Controversy broke out over some of the spoken dialog in the game. Some fans noticed that the French dialog sounded a bit artificial. As it turned out Aspyr used generative AI to produce some of the dialog, but used the voice of French voice actress Francoise Cadol, without her permission. The same discovery was made for the Brazilian voice, using Lene Bastos' voice. Aspyr issued a formal apology and issued a hotfix to remove the spoken lines from the game. The rest of the game was kept in tact.
